SmartDialog includes two methods for collecting consumer payments. Payments can be received either via text message as SMS billing or as mobile payments made on mobile devices.
The SMS billing service can receive paid SMS messages sent by customers. In SMS billing, a short code, keywords, and prices ranging from €0 to €50 are activated for the service. Based on the keywords or search terms, the message sent by the customer is routed directly to the correct service.
In mobile payment, price tiers ranging from €0 to €50 are flexibly activated for the service, allowing customers to complete a payment with just a few clicks. During mobile payment, verification is performed to ensure that the device is connected via mobile network. Once the operator’s system grants billing authorization, the payment transaction is completed.
SMS billing and mobile payment can be used for one-time payments. Recurring billing is also possible, where the payment is automatically charged monthly.
A successful SMS payment or mobile payment is billed to the customer according to the service’s price tier on their phone bill. Arena Interactive remits successful payment transactions monthly to the service provider and delivers a comprehensive report on payment transactions.

SMS billing services are used by organizations to receive campaign-specific or recurring donations for charitable fundraising.
Integrating SMS billing into organizations’ automation systems, such as Salesforce, enables up-to-date contact with donors, cost-effective fundraising, and consistent continuity of donations.
SOS Children’s Villages integrated consumer donations and related multi-channel communications as an integral part of their customer relationship management system. When consumers make a donation to the organization, automated communication processes are initiated. An SMS is sent from the donation number, and by replying to it, the consumer can easily make a donation.

SMS billing and mobile payment are payment methods that allow a company to receive payments directly from the customer’s phone.
In SmartDialog, payment is made in two ways:
In both cases, the fee is charged to the customer’s phone bill, and the company receives payments and reports through the service.
SMS billing is based on short code, keywords and price categories: a short code and keywords are assigned to the service , the customer sends a message with the given keyword, the message is automatically routed to the right service, the customer is charged (typically 0-50 €).
Alternatively, a fee may also be charged when the customer replies to a message received. The successful payment will be added directly to the customer’s phone bill.
The implementation of SMS billing starts with the activation and configuration of the service. In practice, this includes: defining the short code, keywords and prices, setting up the messaging service and payment logic, possible integration with the company’s own systems (e.g. CRM), reporting and payment tracking.
