RCS (Rich Communication Services, RCS for Business) is a rich communication service that adds images, videos, buttons and other interactive content to text messages. Messages appear directly in the phone’s messaging app from a verified sender and also enable two-way communication.

RCS is deployed via SmartDialog by opening an RCS account and integrating the service via an API or user interface.

RCS messages can be sent in SmartDialog either via the user interface or via the API interface. Messages can be sent individually or in groups and, if required, an SMS fallback can be configured if RCS is not available.

SMS is just a text message, while RCS supports rich content such as pictures, videos and interactive buttons. RCS also offers a verified sender and a better user experience compared to traditional SMS.

In Finland, RCS is available on Elisa and DNA networks on compatible Android devices, and support is continuously expanding.
